As we look ahead to the spring semester, we’re facing many of the same questions countless organizations and individuals are weighing at this time. Erie County has seen a dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases. Out of an abundance of caution we have made the difficult decision to start our Spring Semester with virtual class offerings in an effort to protect the health of our staff and students. Teachers are working on revising their plans for the semester, adjusting lessons for this new format and assembling art kits for students to use at home. Classes will begin January 18th and will be held online at least until the beginning of March. As the Yiddish Proverb states, ‘You cannot control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.’ We’re navigating these unknown waters carefully and we’re sure we will come through this with a deeper appreciation for the value of simple things like time spent together.
