New Leadership Roles at the Art House

As we move into the New Year, changes are occurring at the Art House.  We’re welcoming two new full time staff members as well as adjusting the roles of current full-time employees, Lourdes Jasso and Sarah Everett.  We'd like to tell you a little more about each staff member as well as their new roles!

Lourdes Jasso, who has been with the Art House for thirteen years, takes over Program Director responsibilities following the retirement of Sr. Peg Pilewski. Lourdes previously served as Associate Program Director and she will maintain the daily operations of our afterschool and summer programs. She will also oversee all volunteers and instructors involved with the afterschool and summer programs.  Lourdes was born in Mexico and also called Chicago home before relocating to Erie.  She holds a BA from Columbia College in Chicago and a Graphic Design certificate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Sarah Everett has been with the Art House for nine years.  Initially hired as a teacher, she has been serving as full time Art Coordinator and Program Assistant.  Sarah is excited to start a new role as Community Art Director.  She will coordinate and implement alternative programming, which will expand our impact in the community with daytime programming as well as occasional evening and weekend programs.  Stay tuned to find out about upcoming classes and workshops that will be open to adults as well as members of the community! Sarah grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and has called Erie home for a decade.  She attended Moravian College with a BA in Studio Art and Political Science and earned an MFA in Printmaking from Edinboro University.

Sr. Jen Frazer originally hails from Hawaii, and has more recently resided in Boston, MA. Jen holds an undergraduate degree in art, and graduate degrees in Theology and Divinity. An enthusiastic amateur musician, she plays trumpet and French horn. She joined the Erie Benedictines in 2019, taking first vows in 2021. Through the Benedictines, Jen has been a frequent presence at the Art House, an occasional teacher and regular substitute teacher.  She will be moving into a new full-time role as Art Liaison/ Coordinator and she is looking forward to teaching classes each day.

Alexis Snedeker has been hired as our new Administrative Assistant.  If you call the Art House or visit us, you will likely meet her at the front desk.  Alexis is an Erie native, where she danced at Lake Erie Ballet and Erie Dance Conservatory, which allowed her to grow up involved in the arts. She remained in Erie to attend Mercyhurst University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. Alexis is excited to be joining the Art House.
