Second Saturday October 2023 : Pumpkin Painting

On that second Saturday of October, the Art House was transformed into a lively gathering place. Tables were set up with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, brushes, paints, and an array of other decorating supplies. The walls were adorned with artwork from current and previous students, inspiring everyone who entered with the boundless possibilities.  This was the largest indoor community art event to date, and participants overflowed into the Clay Space and the Dance space as the crowd grew.

The event kicked off at mid-morning, and children and adults alike flocked to the Art House, eager to let their creative juices flow. Community Art Instructors provided guidance and inspiration to the participants, helping them explore their artistic talents.

The laughter of children, the chatter of friends, and the soothing hum of brushes on pumpkins filled the air. Some painted whimsical faces on their pumpkins, while others embraced intricate designs of nature and harvest scenes. The pumpkins, blank canvases just hours earlier, were now transformed into works of art, each one unique in its own way.

The Pumpkin Painting day turned out to be a day of unity and artistry, where the community came together to celebrate the beauty of fall and the joy of creating. The pumpkins were taken home as cherished keepsakes, adorning porches and living rooms as a reminder of a day filled with laughter, art, and the warmth of a close-knit community.
