Spirit Week at the Inner-City Neighborhood Art House!

Dearest Readers -

I recently had the pleasure of attending Spirit Week at the Inner-City Neighborhood Art House! And let me tell you, from the moment the students arrived, it was clear that Spirit Week was truly something special.

The week started off with “Stuffy Day.”  One by one, the students introduced their beloved “stuffy” to their friends and teachers.  Each student spoke with such enthusiasm and affection that their eyes lit up every time they shared cherished memories of their fluffy bunnies, brave superheroes, and cuddly bears.

Tuesday marked “Color Wheel Day,” where the students were encouraged dress up as colors from the color wheel, and the students did not disappoint! Their outfits were a mesmerizing blend of colors that showcased the spectrum of primary colors from red to blue to green.

Wednesday was “Wacky Wednesday.”  Students sported outrageous hairstyles, backward clothing, and wacky bedazzled hats.  Laughter filled the air as students compared their unique creations and it became clear that no two costumes were alike.

“Throwback Thursday” transported the Art House back to eras gone by and felt like a living museum.  The students dressed as '70s disco queens, '80s rockstars, and '90s boy band enthusiasts.  There was even one student who decided to take us all the way back to the Jurassic period and dressed up as a dinosaur.

Last but not least, Friday was “Pajama Day."  The students shuffled into the building in their fluffy slippers, flannel pajamas and colorful robes.  There was a sense of coziness in the air, as students traded stories about their wild sleepover adventures and their favorite bedtime snacks.

As the week drew to a close, it became clear that Spirit Week had accomplished its mission! It had brought students together, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie.  The lessons learned during Spirit Week went far beyond the fun getups and crazy hairstyles.  It was a reminder that the true spirit of the Art House lies in its strength to provide a safe, nurturing, and caring environment for its students.

Yours Truly,

Lady Whistlenote
