Class structure & more information:
This is a 'drop off program.' Students will be in small classes with students of similar age.
Each day students spend one hour learning about art history and working on a hands on project based on a specific artist or art form with experienced and certified art teachers.Students also spend an hour working with a guest 'teaching artist' from the Erie region. Guest artists work in a variety of art mediums and are asked to share examples of their own artwork with students and teach lessons based upon their artistic area(s) of expertise.
Please note: Students will be expected to work in a structured instructional environment. If it is determined that students are not ready, they will be asked to leave the program without a refund of fees. If individual supervision is needed, it will be the responsibility of parents or guardians to provide it.
Our classes can be messy, and we're big proponents of hands-on, immersive projects. Students should not wear their best clothes to homeschool art classes. 'Dress for mess.'
Daily schedule: Class 1 runs from 10 -11 am, Snack time 11 - 11:15 am, Class 2 runs from 11:15 am - 12:15 pm. Students may be dropped off at 9:45 am.
Scholarships are available to cover the cost of tuition. For more information, email seeverett@neighborhoodarthouse.org.
