Experiential Learning Outside of the Classroom

Field trips offer amazing opportunities for hands-on, immersive learning experiences.  Each summer, Art House students age 9 and up are invited to participate in two week-long field trip programs.  The field trips are geared toward learning about the environment and appreciating nature as well as making art on location.  One week of field trips is built around visiting the beautiful grounds of the Glinodo Center.  The second week is more varied, with students touring different regional locations to learn interesting facts from skilled presenters.  In recent years, Art House students have visited numerous sites, including Asbury Woods, the Erie Zoo, Presque Isle, Double D Blueberry Farm, Tamarack Wildlife Refuge, Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve and fished with the S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie on the Bayfront.
