Sr. Peg's Retirement

In this year of transitions at the Art House, we are bidding a fond farewell to Sr. Peg Pilewski who has been a steadfast advocate for the arts since the beginning of our program.  Even though the Art House has been incorporated for 26 years, Sr. Peg can boast 27 years of involvement as she participated in the one-year pilot program that took place prior to our official opening.  Sr. Peg has filled many important roles at the Art House throughout her tenure, including Instructor, with an emphasis on clay and Art Coordinator.  Most recently, she served for eleven years as Program Director.  Associate Program Director Lourdes Jasso will now take over Program Director responsibilities.

We celebrated Sr. Peg's retirement on the last day of the Fall Semester with current teachers and faculty alumnae in attendance.  Sr. Peg will continue to manage the Chapter 57 Art Gallery at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery and plans to pursue her own artistic passions, especially photography.  We wish her all the best in retirement and solute her for helping to make the Art House an enduring center of creative expression for inner-city youth.  ‘Surround yourself in light,’ Sr. Peg!
